At St John’s Camden, we believe that to belong, believe and become all that Jesus calls us to be means seeing every part of life through the gospel, including how we use our money. Jesus said in Matthew 6:19–21:

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

To believe the good news of Jesus is to trust that the true riches of life are found in him and in the future he promises. And as we keep growing to become more like Christ, we learn to hold our possessions loosely, giving generously and joyfully.

We give because our hearts are set on him, and our treasure is found in heaven.
